Length of time for Personal injuries case?

    Just looking for a timeframe from when Solcr sends Affidavit of Verification to be signed by Plaintiff to when case actually comes up in court, a RTA

    Sorry but it's very much a how long is a piece of string question.

    In the Circuit Court, you are looking at 2-3 years. 3-4 in the High Court.

    The above are best guesses on the basis of straight-forward (ish) cases that proceed to trial for whatever reason. The majority of cases settle before this. Some cases also take substantially longer.

    Mine was a few years back but, as mentioned by others, can be a "how long is a piece of string" question. For me it was circa 4 years end to end from time of accident to settlement but a lot of factors. For me it took a long time in PIAB to be eventually punted to high court with no proposed figure, I think it was with them for 20 months in total, quite unusual though. There was a question mark over long term prognosis so until that was clear rushing it is not advisable.

    Is there any way to check how long a High Court case is likely to take to come up for hearing (besides asking your solicitor) who seems extremely vague about a possible date?

    Can one contact the court clerk themselves to get a rough idea of when the case is likely to be heard?

    Mine was 6 years, and my wife's was nearly 10 years.
