    If on desktop then Libreoffice - https://www.libreoffice.org/ is an opensource office suite available at no cost. Writer is the word processing component. It will read and create word files. It has its quirks but then again so does Ms-Word.

    If on mobile (as is the name of the forum) the Microsoft Word can actually be free. Otherwise something like Polaris Office might work for you.

    Now that i think of it, with a free Microsoft Account you can get online versions of Word for free.
