Does anyone else have this problem, if the phone is on standby the wifi turns off until you wake the phone up. Surely the likes of wifi calling would be unreliable if this is the way they operate?

Some WiFi services do that. Who is your current wifi provider?

Its the iPhone not the access point. Its a power saving feature.

On Android you can disable wifi sleep but iOS does not allow it.

So what happens if you have wifi calling? I gather if connected the wifi will stay on?
