When Reason Sleeps. A horror/supernatural anthology that was a co production between RTE and channel 4 shown in 1987. Of course it's unavailable on dvd and all you can find online are a few production stills.

Here's one that nobody seems to remember or know about, the Steven Speilberg Taken mini series. Its also know as Steven Spielberg Presents Taken.

I've no idea when it was on TV (released 2002) and I only know about it because I bought the box set of DVD's for a pound about 5 years ago at a car boot sale on the UK. I'd 100% recommend it to anyone into science fiction who can put up with Dakota Fannings voice.

Was that the one with Dakota Fanning when she was 5 or 6? You're right, it was brilliant.

That was it, really good but never seen a hint of it on TV and anyone I try and explain it to hasn't a clue what I'm on about. It was on the BBC as I found an archived page for the listing but no idea when it was actually on.

It was because that's where I remember seeing it in the first place. I was spellbound by her performance.

The Count of Monte Cristo (1998), mini series starring Gerard Depardieu.
In French, but aired on BBC2 I think as BBC4 didn't exist yet.

I do remember this series being shown on RTE in early 2003 and I later bought the DVD box set and also the book version. I think it may have been rerun on Sky since the original broadcast but not really sure about that. IMO the series started off brilliantly, dropped off in quality in the middle episodes and then picked up again at the end.

Talkabout - a game show where you talk about a chosen subject. It was first presented by Ian Dempsey, and by Alan Hughes years later when it was revived.

Just remembered Dungeons & Dragons, the 1980s cartoon series.

Manimal. No one I know can ever remember if. I loved it.

Another one was Gemini Man (Sam the invisible man) I so so wanted to have a watch like his to make me invisible.

Does anyone remember Max Headroom? They actually made a TV series, not just him on MTV. And Daria (much later, though)?

Yes I remember this being aired in the mid 70s. Sam was played by Ben Murphy who had starred in Alias Smith and Jones some years earlier. There was also a forerunner to this series named The Invisible Man which also only lasted for one season as far as I can recall. This earlier series starred David McCallum of The Man From Uncle fame.

Yes, he was in that series as well along with Joanna Lumley from The New Avengers and Absolutely Fabulous among others. I remember watching it a few times as a teenager and could never understand what it was supposed to be about.

Someone will know this, the titles escapes me..

EDIT: FOUND IT! Might not have been for kids..

    Get Stuffed (Wikipedia)

BBC1 ITV - Anarchic cooking show for kids, very very short episodes with manic presenters, imagine being told how to cook something by Vivian from the Young Ones (Wikipedia).

Very very 80s show, scruffy, on a shoestring budget. Ahead of its time and somewhat endearing.

One of the main characters may have had a bit of a Scottish accent.

Ghostwriter - children solving mysteries with the help of clues from a ghost.

Heartbreak High - like Grange Hill in Sydney

Dodgem - early 1990s BBC children's drama about children who run away from foster care to join a carnival. Starring Sean Maguire and Lucy Speed.

Banana Man - Eric from Acacia Road
