    Two relative upsets in the first 3 games in Sigerson yesterday with DIT & NUIG being beaten by UL & St Mary's respectively. They go into the losers round.

    N.U.I. Galway 1-11 - 1-11 St Mary's University College - St Mary's win in Free Taking Competition

    University College Cork 7-26 - 2-3 Athlone Institute of Technology

    Dublin Institute of Technology 1-12 1-13 University of Limerick
