Quick charge speeds or lack of

Got a honor play and trying to charge it with normal plug and micro USB to c adaptor

It's saying one percent will take forty eight minutes

Now I don't expect it to be the same as the Huawei plug and cable as that has quick charge or so

What's the best option, any plug with proper USB c cable, a quick charge plug with adapter or USB c cable?

Get the Ampere app so you can measure the rate of charging of a charger and lead combination. There are huge differences, some are not as good as they look.

I swear by the brand Anker, they make great quality products. I've a few of their chargers and also bought some 3 packs of usb c and micro usb cables to have lying around

Does it necessarily follow that fast charging is worse for the life of the battery than slow charging?

Its my 2nd Z3, as the 1st one was always charged using that, and the battery died after about a year of use.

Always slow charge now.

Thats very slow. I have a USB-C adapter to use and it never takes that long - its not as fast as using the cable and plug that came with the phone (Nokia 7+). Maybe the normal plug is slow rated. Might be best to pick up a decent plug?

1850Ma the best I'm getting, 900Ma or so the worse

Weird how one official Huawei plug gives better power than the other

Think I may need just to get a plug and cable set

Yeah it can be surprising which perform well and which don't. I had an official Nexus charger I was using with my Nexus 5 which I learned performed terribly and a cheap as chips noname Chinese brand combination with a thin cable that performed great.

Maybe made by 2 different manufacturers - different specs.

Yeah seen that on extremal hard drives
Both same model but made in different countries

The better Huawei plug is long and has the top pin you can push in, think they're all like that now

bit annoying that the high output port is usb c.

usb c to usb c cables are still not common and are expensive whereas usb to usb c cables are common, typically provided with your device and cheaper to buy

would be handier imo to have 2 usb ports - 1 of which offers high output for usb c devices

I thought that plug would do what I needed if I could have got the deal

Yeah USB c definitely not in mainstream, I read here ikea or tiger have them, but say be a while before penny's, homestore etc have them cheap

1. Turn the screen off. QC wont enable when its on.

2. Doesnt matter if its Huawei or not, just that its QC compliant. If you use a normal brick you get max around 10W, if you use a QC one you get 18W. The USB C/Micro B bit doesnt really matter at all.

you can get a 3 pack of usb a to usb c (that supports fast charging) for the same price.

in fairness that was a big scare story over 3 years ago. and was proved to be largely overblown

Back home and using the plug/cable combo that came in the box and its like night and day

Suppose battery should last long so should be less need to charge
