Hi Folks, looking for a few tips for Berlin. Will be seeing all the main sights. Looking for some advice on some decent areas to head out in the evening with some cool bars/pubs. Not interested in the nightclub scene. But cool hip areas. Staying in the hackescher markt area of the city.

I suppose you've been there and back at this stage.

To anyone going to Berlin, don't forget to spend some time in Potsdam. It's a complete contrast to Berlin - incredible parks, great for strolling and gives you the long history of Germany - where the Cold War becomes the last chapter.

Only half an hour or so by train.
