Bank closes account

Hi while I'm not going into much detail, decided on opening a new bank account my previous bank had shut my account because I'd owed them €3,000 or so, while I don't have a problem paying what I owe but question is are they allowed to shut my account? They had my address, last time I written to them to get statement and details on what I owed I got letter back saying the account is closed do they have any right to close account

Their bank, their rules. They can close accounts that owe money and are otherwise inactive.
