Can you get married, have your partner move in and still keep HAP if your partner is working full time? I know payments stopped immediately under old Rent Supplement rules

Has your partner not moved in already if you're planning on marrying them?

In answer to your question.yes you can keep HAP if you add a partner.

It's my sister that was wondering 😂 they aren't even engaged yet just a chat they were having the other night 🥂

Thanks for the quick reply though. I can put her mind at rest now. I told her not to be worrying about things like that until it comes up

But will be reassessed based on the household income so the contribution will increase or HAP entitlement lost depending on the combined income

It depends on money not hours . If they are fairly low income then most likely will still get HAP but will be paying more per week but only their local authority could reassess them

Ah I understand now. Thank you both for your replies. I didn't think anyone would be online here this time of year. Happy New Year to you both

HAP is means tested. If he moves in she will inform them they will send her a review form she will return it with evidence of his income and, yes, they may lose their HAP if his income brings them over the limit for their area.
