That "accidental" unveiling of Solskjaer on the website is just indicative of the incompetence at the club. How can you accidently unveil a manager on a website? It's obviously just a bull**** way to create a frency, increase interest and drive people onto the website. It's typical of the leaks and rumours around club since a Mr Woodward took over. It's embarrassing.

He only got agitated when it became clear he wasn’t going to be backed in the transfer window and decide the makeup of his squad.

    Yep.

Shít went downhilll when he knew he wasn’t getting the players, you can have issues with that all you like and call him spoiled but there is no point rewriting what happened in the summer to get us to this point.

    Chris Wheeler? The Daily Mail?

Might be a good idea to wait for a source that begins to approach semi-reputable status before even taking any notice...

Doesn't Matter if its true or not really bothered. But Pogba has got his own way now so will expect to see the world class player we supposedly paid for and not the social media spice boy we have been watching. Next few games will tell. I'm not going to hold my breath.

I can't wait for the weekend now to watch the team.... the feeling of apathy I have had since the Chelsea manager was hired has lifted... I'll pull out the shirt's (the retro ones from LVG last season) again when pottering around the house.
And I don't care how the results go, it will be great to have something to get behind. I stuck with Moyes and LVG until their sacking because they represented something worth supporting, Moyes for being the guy given the chance and LVG because of his charm and he had a clear vision and plan. I have never felt like I could fully commit with JM... there is too much dislike built up over the years and his principles and methods just didn't appeal.

I’m just sick that Pogba is going to go straight back into the team after that embarrassing showing in the CL

Excellent marketing from Adidas, most likely intentional from there prospective. I doubt Pogba was aware of it but as you said everyone can make their own call

On the appointment of Ole, not sure how I feel. If the club wants to get structures in place and has a bit of a vision on how it wants to operate beyond this season then excellent. I just don't trust them to do that so I dont know how to feel on this appointment

Hope he's back straight away. If he's no better January window for him.

It's said that one aspect of this 'backing' was to get rid of Martial....one of the only positives from the season.

Love Martial as much as anyone but we shouldn't go rewriting his Manchester United career and those rumours that José wanted to sell him don't really match up to anything we've seen between Martial and José since the window closed. No doubt José was pissed off with him at the start of the season though.

What about the embarrassing showing by all 11 in anfield?

I'm actually delighted with Solskjaer as caretacker. Sounds ridiculous but it's the first proper bit of optimism I've had in a while. Even if just for the rest of the season he will bring in a lot of passion and desire.

Also don't get the fans who are going crazy over the fact we are going this route. I know we all have our doubts but the fact that we are going for a caretacker for now makes me think the reports of restructuring are true, and surely that's what fans want? Restructure the setup and then pick the permanent manager that alligns with these goals.

Reports doing the rounds Woodward is going after Paul Mitchell, Manchester born and currently working with RB Leipzig as head of recruitment and youth development. Fun fact and could be the reason these reports have surfaced is that he previously worked as head of recruitment for Southampton and you guessed it Spurs.

So obviously the papers running with Woodward pursuing him in preparation to linking up with Poch again next season. We will wait and see.

He has no where to hide now. Certain types laid the blame solely at Joses feet for Pogbas abject performances so I'm looking forward to him now taking the league by storm considering the one holding him back has departed.

Massive money but in the long run would be worth it. He is made for the job imo

Then they’ll get Eddie Howe for 10 million and still look a better side then us!

Not revisionism at all. It was clear that Mourinho had set out his stall early on that he wasn't going to do anything of significance this season. It actually goes back to last season and the defeat against Sevilla - he immediately began whining as if to suggest it shouldn't be expected that he should win such a tie. There has been a constant stream of negativity from him ever since. It's amazing that there are some deluded souls like bucketybuck who think that if he had been given £70m for Harry McGuire in the Summer, the whole dynamic would have changed. It's either wishful thinking or an inability to admit that he made the wrong call with continuing to back Mourinho (more likely the latter).

Does everything have to be explained to you with diagrams and power point presentations or something?

You have consistently cherry picked peoples comments to try and defend Pogba.

So for the millionth time and as clear as I can possibly be.

Its not the performances of Pogba that I have a major problem with, almost everyone on the team has been under performing, NOBODY has said otherwise.

The difference with Pogba and the rest is that he simply doesn't look like he gives two shytes about the team. Sanchez, Rom, Rashford all lose the ball regularly and misplace passes but 99% of the time they will try and recover the ball when the lose it.

Pogba does not, he is lazy when things are not going his way and simply does not try. That's my problem with him. His attitude and application absolutely stinks. You can have all the talent in the world, and he has lots, but it's all for naught when you simply cannot be arsed trying.

Hard to know what to make of McKenna and Carrick, them replacing Faria conincided with the massive drop in defensive performances and results.

In saying that it is hard to know how much advise Jose actually took from them.

McKenna seems very highly rated so hope he is kept on.

Agree would be a good appointment. I just fear there are some other issues to be addressed at the club before a new manager can really turn things around. Woodward needs to stay out of football matters and a DOF appointed for a start.

Yep. Matic Lingard and the likes, albeit they look like their trying more, have been as poor as Pogba.

Not a bad run of games over the Christmas period for Ole to build some positive momentum going into the second half of the season.

Indicative of the way the club is being run.

Leak the information then test the reaction online with the number of clicks, search words and likes. It's good marketing but a pathetic way to run a football club.

Whoever gets the Utd job is probably doomed to failure, no matter who it is. You either win titles and challenge for the CL or your gone. Simple as that. Same as City. At other clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea, its currently about challenging.

Utd are very far behind the top 5 as it stands. To catch up will take a massive investment (paying players off to leave and recruiting new) considering they all have a head start. It will not be a quick turnaround and in three years if Utd have not won anything, questions will start to be asked. We saw Klopp under pressure last year. Same with Utd. The press scrutiny will be intense.

Chances are Utd will make strides with a better manager, but to actually challenge for the title and turn this team around with the Glazers in charge? It is a massive massive challenge.
Every other team will be investing in their squads and its one thing spending more than Liverpool, but City?

What do they say - only half of a teams signings work out. So when Utd recruit, they either do what Liverpool done in the last 20 years and buy potential or they spend stupid money and buy "almost" dead-certs. Thats easily £500m+ with no guarantees.

I think Utd need to understand the new reality - they are a top 4/6 team and forget about the title in the next 5 years. Take the pressure off who ever is in charge, give them a 5 year contract and accept that there will be lots of hiccups along the way.

This is the same pogba who also came back early from winning a world cup to help the team out so to say he doesnt care isnt true

I think it got to the stage between jose and pogba that it was an unworkable situation but joses problem was it that it was getting to that stage with other players as well like sanchez fred lingard etc

Totally agree. I would sacrifice success for s while to see good football, determination and passion on the pitch from the team and be able to look forward to a trip to OT again.

Pogba is no doubt delighted Solskjaer is being brought in.

Worked together previously and Ole has previously spoken highly of him. I see the quote about "what would you do as Jose with Pogba" is doing the rounds from before.

No doubt it will piss off a lot ot see he said he would build the entire team around Pogba. Will be interesting end to the season. Say what you want about the decision, for the first time in ages I'm excited to see what happens this weekend.

Move away from all the romantasism about this appointment and it shows what a joke the club has become.

I want him to succeed but if this was a rival we would laughing at them.
