    How good were we today.

Allison - calm with the ball at his feet, not much to do. I thought he was unlucky that the fumble fell to Lingard.

Clyne - excellent today considering he hasn't played much in the last two seasons.

Lovern - solid again after been out for a while.

    VVD - absolute unit.

Robertson - poor on corners but he's like the energiser bunny up and down the wing all afternoon.

Fabhino - best player on the park. Looked like he won every ball that came near him, tried to keep the ball moving forward, excellent positioning and a great assist.

Gini - got through a lot of donkey work as usual and carried the ball forward well.

Kieta - very good as well. Offered himself for every pass and tried some though through balls.

Mane - his best performance this season. Caused United loads of problems with his direct running. Good goal and a nice ball across the box for Shaqiri³ to get his first.

Bobby and Salah - both did very well. Worked very hard and didn't give the United back 9 any time on the ball.

Shaqiri³ - unbelievable. Picked up great spaces when he came on and got two huge goals.

And a word for United - pathetic
Great to see Clyne back today, he looked fit and did well, and 'going forward' Liverpool need every man they have playing a part.

That said, my granny could have played in defence today, United were that bad.

the last three weeks or so we have been doing something we haven't done all season, playing well. I don't know if they have another gear but if they do, oh boy.

There are 4 undefeated teams in the top 5 leagues right now, the others are top by 9, 10, and 11 points. We can't catch a break.

    ipmj0dusoo421.png

Juve have been whooping that league for eons and PSG not stretching themselves in a league like that. Can't take anything away from Dortmund.

To be undefeated in the league at this stage is incredible and I keep saying that we can't ask much more of what the players have given us, and that's still absolutely true.

Loved seeing Van Dijk reassuring Alisson after the mistake. Really is a captain in waiting.

    Certainly agree 100%
Fabinho gave an absolute masterclass, possible the best performance ive seen from a Liverpool midfielder in recent years.

Any vids of the studio discussion after the game ?

I'm convinced that there are gears they haven't gone through yet. The thing that has impressed me so much this season is that they're getting results while playing a more disciplined game.

ok I'm off to play battlefield V a couple of hours and bottles of wine too late but I depart with nothing but joy and love in my heart and am going to have fun, no matter what happens.

It’s all a big love-in here tonight, great to see. No in-fighting or drama, united against United. :)

December was billed as a make or break month with 8 games.
Is that 5 down now and 5 wins?

We're building a serious head of steam. Confidence is building and a great togetherness in the squad.

Ok, had enough fun with the schadenfreude now, someone give Gary Neville a hug. Poor bastard looks like he's fighting the tears.

He's really annoyed and upset to see what's happening to a club he gave twenty something years to.

I need to start believing in the team a bit more.
I had a wobble when it went 1-1 but this team is amazing.
It's like my other favourite team...i doubt them and generally they come through.
    It's a great feeling...

I actually have a tiny soft spot for him because he cares about United as much as we all care about Liverpool, and he does genuinely be devestated with results like this.

    At the same time though.....

A huge factor for me is all the doom and gloom when Joe Gomez got injured [who has been immense might i add] but in steps Matip and puts in a few really good performances then gets injured along with Trent, its okay though as Millie and Lovren can step in but then Milner gets injured.
Up next is Clyne who has not played in a hell of a long time but done alright out there today.
At last we actually do have a decent squad , Shaqino coming off the bench to grab the winners and hendo for some reassurance and then Lalanna and Sturridge unused subs.
How times have changed when we look at our bench even when there are so many injured players.

Yeah, fair enough. Still, for that celebration against us, can't completely let it go....

See what happens when you give the manager the money to buy the top players?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,764 ✭✭✭Speak Now

Don't think they showed it after as they were messing about with replays but the second goal started with some clever play from our keeper while our defenders were looking nervy.
    Haven't seen it mentioned anywhere.

With the right manager you get Liverpool and City

With the wrong manager you get Fulham and Man U.

I hope Fabinho gets a run in the team.

He was superb today especially in the 1st half.

    He absolutely will.

Fabinho's success all the most encouraging as for all the expectation Utd did not actually park the bus (maybe they should have) so he had plenty to concentrate on other than finding forward passes.

Shaqiri 5 goals in 626mins played in the pl this season. What would pogba mins per goal be?

Have to say I like Clyne. Obviously not as talented going forward as TAA but better in terms of defensive positioning than TAA or Gomez at RB. Will be interesting to see if he can stay in the picture once those two and even Milner are back available.
