    Nothing PC at all

Using concentration camp as humor really!

If you think using the deaths of 6 million people is humour about a footballer getting injured well then it say more about you than anything else.

I dont usually get involved in others spats - but you need to give yourself a shake!

Believe it or not There's been more then one concentration camp, I never mentioned anything about that particular time in world history so don't lay that one at my door pal

    Top of the league

He’s a fantastic player. A succession of elite level managers haven’t just had him in their teams, they’ve made him their captain.

The fact you can’t see his worth, isn’t anyone else’s problem but yours.

Must be plenty of people's problem so because there are many who share the same opinion.

Anyway, he will be put out to pasture soon enough so then he will be some other fans problem. Fingers crossed.

....when we were strongly linked with Phil Jones and were very disappointed having missed out on his signing? Also, after his first few games with them he was mentioned as the next Duncan Edwards. :D

I love that they still play him. He is wonderful.

Good post, this piece caught my eye. Was convinced at the time this was a bad lack of judgement, for various reasons. I wouldn't be persuaded otherwise. A year later we have VVD playing that position.

Won’t be saying that if he starts up front on Sunday. Probably a better finisher than Lukaku.

Feels likes there a bigger chasm in quality between the teams then when we played them in the Europa League a couple of seasons ago. Will be desperately disappointing not to take all 3 points on Sunday.

Stop that always remember not one of our players would get into their team.

Will always believe this too. When Stevie slipped (and we became all emotional??), there was nobody right where Hendo would've been to cut off the attack leading to the first goal for Chelsea. We were absolutely wide open.

Hendo wouldn't have been there then either, if he was playing. He was used much further forward back then and it was his pressure on defenders that often led to goals.
Gerrard was playing much deeper then too, often dropping between and behind the two centre backs.

    Who's said this now?

This may be his best position, on the front foot in midfield. Up top chasing down the opposition. The amount of harrying and harrassing he does is unreal. He's great at getting in the opposition faces and nicking balls high up. Did it a few times the last night.
He does the same now in the deeper role but obviously if he goes and gets caught the risks are greater.
I've always liked Hendo and constantly sing his praises on here. People go on about the sideways passing yet berated him when he tried the 'hollywood' balls (ala gerrard). He's grown into his role in the club fantastically over the years, considering he was close to being sold a few times. Yet he wanted to stay an fight for his place. He's now captain. He wont go missing in games and is always willing to look for the ball and puts a massive shift in every time he plays. Delighted he plays for us.

Not the same casm in quality on Saturday with Lovren starting and Milner maybe moved to right back.

With regards Gerrard and Hollywood balls, anyone remember that bass four years ago against Newcastle at home for Suarez to round the keeper??

Klopp is steadily bringing us back to where we belong in Europe. This should be our last season as 3rd seeds in the group stages regardless of what happens in the knockout rounds (assuming we finish top 4!)

UEFA co-efficients at end of each season:

    2014/15 - 42nd (EL round of 32)
    2015/16 - 35th (EL final)
    2016/17 - 34th (not in Europe)
    2017/18 - 22nd (CL final)
2018/19 - currently 14th (CL round of 16 at least)

And if the season ended now we would move to 12th. We could be 11th if Roma don't qualify next season (8th in the league).

Not qualifying for anything in 2016/17 hurt but we're clawing back.

We'll start next season as 2nd seeds for the group which hasn't happened in over a decade (we were 1st seeds more recently in the Lyon, Fiorentina, Debrecen group in 2009 that we should never talk of again)

If we can start consistently qualifying and getting out of the group stage we're going to be a solid top 10 team in co-efficient terms soon enough

Qualified last two seasons and got out of the group stage each time so I think it's fair to say that we have started.

Jose enrique played that ball. Suarez chested it around collocinni and krul before tapping it home. Unreal goal

    Nope, Gerrard.

Edit: I'm wrong. You are right.

This is the one I was thinking of, vs Sunderland.

I would agree it's his best position and gets the most out of him. He doesn't have time to think there and I think it suits him because he's a very instinctive player.
Unfortunately, I don't think he can do it as effectively anymore because of injuries.
I like Henderson, he always gives it his all but his current role doesn't suit him as much and it shows how much of a decent player he is, that he can play the position and often play it well.

True but I meant the starting point would be 5 consecutive seasons of scoring co-efficient points. Right now we only have 2 meaning that we're still counting a year of Zero points in the calculation for the next few years. Teams above us like Porto for instance have been getting less points than us in a single season but they're counting the extra year because the consistently qualify and score points so we won't realistically overtake them until we also have 5 consecutive years.

But yes you are correct, we have started, we're just carrying a zero season for a while more. Another CL final appearance would help!
