    The stick was a marketing ploy... You could share the choc ice among 6 people at Christmas Dinner and then light the stick to keep the house warm.... Ahhhh! The good old days.....

    Tesco have them here. I first came across them in the UK but I've gotten them here too.

    Yep, no stick on UK choc ice. Anything with a stick is a lolly. First pic on the link is what I think of as a choc ice.

    The stick stopped you getting sand on your choc ice from sticky sandy hands . Then you could have races with them on the waves . Or poke limpets off the rocks or poke it at a crab to annoy it . The stick was a vital part of summer life
