Can someone spec me out a basic desktop build on whichever of those sites is most reputable,

best I3,
8GB RAM,
256GB SSD (should do, bigger if not much in price)
1TB HDD
Windows
Am I missing anything? I have monitor and that stuff.

A prebuilt is €600+ with just this basic spec, seems extortionate for something so basic!!

AMD CPUs offer better value than Intel i3 these days.

Alternatively, drop the SSD to 240Gb & upp the CPU to 2400G for a decent gaming machine.

There was a RAM shortage which might have been part of a price cartel.
Prices tripled on DDR4 over a 2-year period and only now are they coming back down.

Depends on what exactly you want the machine for.
They'll knock 90-100 GBP off the price if you configure it without Windows 10.

Are alza.co.uk reliable, looking for a Ryzen 3 and they are way cheaper then amazon.

Think they only ship to UK so I will have to use parcel wizard.
