I got a text message basically reminding someone to go to court at 10:30. It’s the wrong number (well, I hope) and I’m a bit on the nosy side so is there any way to view a complete list of people who are due in court today?

Each court office issues a list of its cases. Family law cases are initials only,

What website are these on? I can’t seem to be able to find them.

For District Courts you would need to contact the particular District Court office. For higher Courts you can search on the courts website

Does Court 4 mean anything? Is there a Court 4 in every courthouse, or is there only one Court 4 in the country? I only ask because I saw mention of courts with numbers as high as 35, and I can’t imagine being 35 courtrooms per courthouse?

Court 4 is just the courtroom number in the courthouse in question. Court 4 could be in any one of a number of courthouses around the country.

The main courthouses in any of the regional centres would probably have 4 or more courtrooms. I'd guess only the four courts complex would have 35 (or more).

I'd guess the intended recipient of the message knows which courthouse they should be in, the court number let's them know where in that courthouse they should be.

Your priority. should be to reply to the text saying that it was misdirected. Somebody's right to a hearing could depend on it.

Oh I did, though I'd like to think our courts service doesn't rely on SMS...

The message was probably from the person's solicitor.
