Nice looking 190 bhp Celica for the same money albeit with shorter test to 4/19

Terrible ad, but looking past that - 01 TT with NCT to 2020 and tax to 4/19 €1450

    Impressive miles @ 200k!

Comes back as a 6 speed 180 bhp, I thought only the 225 was 6 speed but maybe I'm wrong, or maybe it was registered incorrectly.

I would imagine with that mileage and an early NCT its probably not entirely bad either.

gotta love the lets take really crappy pictures to hide the reg then post the NCT disk with the reg on it fail.

    That ad is atrocious.

The Celica is epic though. I know which one I'd go for..

    There’s def a 180 6 speed, think there was a 150 5 speed FWD?

Wasn't that the newer version, '05 onwards?

Have seen a few convertibles with that set up alright, they usually have cloth seats too.

My folks have a 00 180 BHP 5 speed, 6 must have just been an option on the 180 and standard on the 225.

That is not even run in yet. Ok they are boring as hell but they are practically bulletproof and for that money that is a true bangernomics special. My father has an 02 with 210,000 miles on it and it has never missed a beat, one thing to look for is rust on the door sills, get underneath and have a nosey. Even with that a plate is easily put on for c.60 quid all in.

Edit - I also noticed it has 140 quid tax left on it. They are giving that away!!

Hmm, 1 owner from new who is now retired from driving. Would have being very doubtful that owner wrote d turbo xr xlr drz e30 diff or was looking to swap for a enduro motorbike or maybe a Van.

This is a bargain by the looks of it. €710 tax, but classic insurance will bring the running costs down. One of the most reliable engine-gearbox combos too and a strong colour as well. Refreshed 1991 model as well, which looks better than the first version IMO. Interior looks good and I like the spartan interior. Front looks a bit low, but worth a look at that price. Ad sounds honest.

    1991 200E Auto, 08/19, 191,000 Km. €1,750

One owner claim sould be very easily verified.
The d turbo xr xlr etc nonsense could be as simple as a grandchild into that scene inherited and/or selling the car for a grandparent.

Either way for anyone interested in that particular car a quick phone call would set the record straight in seconds I suspect.

They've 2 adds for the 306 and another for a Lexus. All seem to focus on sob stories and bull sh!t about the potential those cars have as classics. He's looking to sell to an idiot.

My tuppence worth, don't overthink it.
If you are interested in a 306 go down to his yard and have a look at it in the flesh.
    Bring cash. :)

There’s only one owner on the book anyway, not unthinkable that a grandchild that inherited the car has put up the ad.

classic insurance according to the seller, he thinks, I'm open to correction, but isn't classic insurance only available from 30 years old in a vehicle? that car has a way to go, 7+ years away

No some companies give from 15 onwards.

Classic tax is 30 year plus......

There are many on here that have a classic policy along with their daily driver.

Mazda rx-8. No interior photos of seats but relatively low mileage. E1850. Would be tempted but need a car that can fit a bike

I wouldn't have the balls for that Mazda.

Whats the criteria, my car is 17 years, I know they wouldnt on my car alone and doesnt have that classic appeal, its just drive it on bangernomics for me. Id happily have a 15yo clean car on classic insurance and keep a cheap boring daily driver, can you name some brokers or ins companies please?

Why not? too many mech problems, do they need to be run regularily? doesnt look the cleanest and the NCT is up in Jan 19.

132,000 is high on those engines isn't it? Unless it's one of the many of those on its second one.

Do the bores as well as rings go one them? And they really tickover at 2k rpm like the photo? Assuming it's 100% it's a fairly impressive if risky car for the money, I've always been interested in the wankel engines

You think he went to the bother of fabricating a sob story about a supposed one owner car to sell it for 600 odd bucks? With 6 months test, 6 months tax and the book backing up the owner claim.
Granted, the seller is probably young and a bit naive but I'd wager the car is genuine.
I don't think he's trying to sell to an idiot.

I like these in 3-door. A new soft roof is £250.00 and easily fitted for the summer if you wish. Nice colour on this and it looks clean, poor pics and no interior pics.

Claimed NCT recently done, so should be able to do an early test at the end of the month.

    €1,500, 28/02/19, has 160,000km.

Looks to be in nice shape but if I was in the market for a vehicle of this nature I'd be more inclined to go for on of these.

    https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/2003-toyota-rav-4-3-door-1-8-petrol/20259708

Unless I am mistaken the Land rover has a strong appetite for head gaskets and also is considerably less economical than the Toyota if Donedeal figures are anything to go by.
