Difficult game, Arsenal were on it and really went for it but despite that we still had our chances to win it and before their goal could(should?) have been two goals clear. Nice result and top of the league.

Catching City will probably be a step too far this season.

Well, we are top of the league and a point clear of them, lets not go patting City on the back and hand them the title just yet :P

For a supposed small team Spurs are going well. Top 4 with this win.

Agree with this, and it’s impacting the front 3. Instead of the mid supporting them, Bobby is deeper supporting the mid.

The result: Our mids are deeper protecting the back 4, we are less open and our goals conceded is a huge improvement. But we don’t have mids getting forward, we threaten less, and the front 3 look less effective.
Seems to be the way Klopp wants to play it this year. Less flashy, but more solid in defense.

Bobby also works best where he can nip in from behind to take the ball, usually been the first point of the press. He excels at this and because he's so good at it the defenders and always looking over their shoulders and rush their passes.

With him being deeper he's facing the defenders coming towards him and they are now under less pressure and can make a more measured pass.

Theres no guarantee that City will replicate last seasons points either, I mean it looks likely currently but nothing is certain in football....

I have a feeling as the Christmas games hit city will keep picking up win after win and our results although they could be good away draws ,will see us slip further and further away , I hope not though

They're getting a lot of stick this year but without any recruitment they've had their best ever start in the PL. They'll be top 4 or really close again this year

Fabinho very disappointing this evening. Taking quite a while to find his feet.

Van Dijk was our best player in defence & attack.

Incredible player. Best defender I have seen play for Liverpool.

He's definitely one of the best we've had in a while. He's rock solid and is a leader of men. I think Hansen was the best I've seen. If Van Dijk can start scoring he'll be on a par with Hansen. And to think, he can only get better.

He was unlucky not to score today especially with the one off the post. Two good saves from Leno as well.

Even though it feels like we didn’t play particularly well today we still had a perfectly good goal disallowed, hit the post twice and the Arsenal keeper had to make some very good saves. Two alone from VVD. Not all bad today to be fair.

He told Klopp on his way off the pitch that he should have had a hat-trick. He's right!

Liverpool could go the season unbeaten and still not win the league that’s how good City are.

Draws genuinely are like defeats with City as they are these days.

Could have done with henderson today. Fabinho was well off the pace.

Burnley are not the team they were last season so I would be hopeful of a win there

You could see why Klopp didn't start him for so long imo. Wijnaldum being off the pace was a bigger surprise in a way. When Robertson absolutely f**ked them out of it during the second half it said it all.
Red Star & Fulham next week need be two wins. We need to put in good performances too as there hasn't been enough of them this season.

A lot for a defender but he was worth every penny imo. Without him for any length of the time the defence would suffer. He's improving Gomez too but it hasn't rubbed off enough on TAA yet who was a horror show tonight.

It sounds like a lot of people have already decided that City will win the league. You know what, there's 27 more games to play. Liverpool are on top for the moment. They are a joy to watch even if they have not hit top form yet. We are unbeaten after 11 games and have a fairly mean defence. City are good I'll admit but they are not unbeatable.

I haven't felt this chuffed, hopeful or optimistic about Liverpool since the mid- to late eighties. We have a seriously strong defence at last. Our attackers are among the most feared in England, if not Europe. Our midfield could be a little stronger but I'm happy with who we have at the moment. We can and will keep going, getting better as the games go by. Seriously, we're not even a third of the way through the Premier League season yet. Lets not give in to City just yet.

Was Robertson not going mental at the ref because he was pulled back and the ref didn't give anything?

I thought Trent was a shambles today beem saying it for a while hes not near the finsihed articlr that some think he is , but he will get there ,
Fab had a shocker, Milner and Gini not much better , Shame Keita being injured could have done with him today ,
I think in Janauary we need another attacker we dont have anyone to replace the front 3 ,
Shaq has been good but we need another

Interesting. Burnley are not that great at home. I wouldn't fear them. Bournmouth possibly could get a deaw.

Hmm just seen the Lacazette goal (was reduced to listening by this stage live), everyone was drawn towards the ball, I'm not saying a man on the line would have made the block but he might have.

When Allison came out to close the space the defender at the back (Robertson I think) should have dropped back to the line. The finish was good though so it might not have made much of a difference.

As soon as Allisson didn't get the ball he should have done his best to get back towards the goal line. Instead he got caught in no man's land. He wasn't near enough to Lacazette to close him down or close enough to the goal line to have a chance of making a save. Lacazette had a big target to aim for.
