    https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/honor-8x-news/

    $200 price
fast cpu (140,000 on anatutu which is plenty fast)
    good camera
big screen 6.5inch but overall phone size not overly massive overall although it is fairly big.
very nice design / nice-looking phone
NFC! (just be careful as not on every region model apparently).
good battery size of 3750mah which some reviews are saying gives 2-day battery life

this seems like incredible value. seems to tick all the boxes.

some will complain about Huawei not allowing to unlock the phone for custom roms but most won't care about this.

haven't looked into where you can buy it but no doubt it will be available online now or very soon.

amazing what budget phones are offering these days compared to even only 6 months ago.

for sure. as you know it's noticeably absent on budget phones for cost saving reasons and 'cos nfc isn't really big in China yet.

saw some comment that the camera can be inconsistent - can take good photos and bad ones in similar light. maybe that could be fixed in a software update if they bother.

obviously it's not going to be great in bad light.

also the pricing seems to vary by market - but if it's around 200 in china then it will be available for around that price on places like eglobal also.

think that it's being marketed as the honor 10 view lite also in some places.

I see these are available now from Argos for €289.99...

I gather there are some regional variations that affects the 4G bands available. I'm assuming the ones in Argos support 800Mhz and 1800MHz 4G for Ireland but it's hard to find any concrete details about this online.

Edit: Honor support confirmed units sold in Ireland/UK should be compatible with 4G bands 3 and 20

Looking for a powerful budget phone and this seems to be the best choice.

Thinking of getting it on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/storage-Camera-Display-Official-Device-Blue/dp/B07HCSP6DQ

I've never bought a sim-free phone like this before and am worried about compatibility with my current sim. I'm on Vodafone pay as you go, no contract.

Is it as simple as transferring my old sim into this and I should be flying?

should be a simple switch once you can confirm your current sim is the correct size for the new phone

    No band 20.

Every spec sheet I've seen suggests its B3 only. Gimped like the cheaper CN phones. That means about 50% 4G coverage in Ireland. Nahhh.

Have you bought from there before? Trying to sign up but they won't accept my phone number, seems they need a UK number.
