Radio Code for 1998 Ford Transit??

    hey guys,
    i'm trying to find the radio code for a 98 ford transit!
    i have already tried a few codes that i found on the internet but no luck.
    the radio is an original ford 4000 traffic cassette etc.
    the only info i have is the reg, cant get the serial number too handy because its my uncles van and he isnt too fond pulling things apart.
    do you guys now is there anyway to find out the code with the reg? like any place i could ring that'd know it through the reg.
    oh and what happens if i put in a wrong code for the 10th time?:rolleyes:

    any help will be appreciated,

    Maybe Ford themselves will have the code if you provide your vans chassis number.

    You could look under the ashtray thats where :(we used to stick them when i worked at ford.After three attemps the radio locks.If you ring the local ford garage they might help.

    thanks guys, do you know how i'd contact ford, looked on their sight but no numbers or will the local ford dealer be alright?
    haha i'm on the 9th attempt! ya just have to wait 30mins in between each code:o

    just bought the car no code,pressing 1 and 6 but only giving me very long numbers none are beginning with v or m dealer want 20 bucks to do it,
