Auhhhh, Despite its flaws, I enjoyed Iron fist :(

They should have kept going with a third season, by the look of how it ended, they were going to have to really mix it all up anyway. And then if it was still ****, then yeah, get the axe.

Great mix of horror and drama. You really get invested into the characters.

When I heard they were doing it.. I wasn't sure but with Mike Flanagan attached, it's definitely worth a look..

.. watched the first two and enjoying it, bar some dodgy dialogue in parts.

With the market becoming saturated, it's only a matter of time before there's at least one large casualty. The US only ones are probably propped up a little by international Netflix deals (such as DC or CBS), but hard to see how there won't be someone flopping hard.

Even Facebook and Apple are getting into the game - both of whom feel like good candidates for failure.

Since Netflix replaced my cable I still have monetary room. Apple might work but I can’t see myself paying just for Disney or marvel content.

Is the kindergarten teacher scheduled for release in Ireland anytime soon?

Weirdly, and without any scientific evidence to back it up, I have the smallest inkling Disney might be one of those flops. Netflix and Amazon rule the roost, with the latter having literal billions to spend. Hit TV shows seem to be the key to a successful service, and I don't see where Disney are going to build that; Solo opened the question as to the broad sustainability of SW so who knows if a couple of TV shows will persuade people to cross over, and an apparently "family friendly" mandate is only going to dissuade adults wanting some "prestige TV" as the saying goes. There's already plenty of kids content on the Big Two. The Fox buyout opens even more franchise doors so maybe the Simpsons back catalogue might entice (though IIRC Hulu have that).

Like I said, just spitballing, but Disney aren't invincible and immune to bad ideas (there are a surprising number of flops in the box office, and stuff like Euro Disney nearly went bankrupt at the start).

AFAIK Netflix only picked up the North American rights for it. A UK distributor has it down for a theatrical release in early February, meaning it’ll almost certainly get a release on the arthouse circuit over here then as well.

Disney is worth 150 billion, amazon 800 billion , Netflix 150 + billion .. could be an awful lot of tv made between them

One tiny thing spoiled "The Haunting Of Hill House " for me.

    Don't laugh.

OK you can f you want.

    This isn't a spoiler btw.

In the "past" section, which I infer is about 20 years ago, at one point the mother stays with the young daughter sleeping on a sofa, presumably because she's scared of her own room.

The mother is wearing a pair of wedge heel shoes.

Now those shoes only became popular in the 00's so I call fail on the wardrobe department.

    :D

Would give it a 6 out of 10, found the male lead very weak and uninteresting. Had great potential but let down by a lack of direction in acting in some areas. Michael Sheen was good as usual though, surprised he took that role to be honest

1 episode into the haunting of Hill House and its already better than 90% of the horror films I've seen in the last 10 years.

^ I wrote my opinions elsewhere but it's an extremely competent series, and one of the best original series Netflix have made in a long time.

    I watched 22July

It was heartbreaking in parts but overall very very good.
