Loss of teeth causing slight lisp/affecting speech - will Dentures fix this?

Hi guys

Appointment in 2 weeks to get a consultation, then I'll be having major extractions and dentures.

Will this fix my recent slight speech issue due to tooth loss I'm guessing?

A lot of extractions and fitting dentures is more likely to be detrimental to speech than curative...

No one here knows the nature of your speech issues and no one here knows the condition of your teeth...

Most patients find difficulty with phonation with a major change in their prosthesis but most adapt well over a few weeks. Fixing a preexisting problem is less likely.

Ask Chris Eubank, he had a lisp and now has a whistle following dental treatment!!

I've always had perfect speech and diction, but over the last month due to losing a number of front teeth, my S's and Z's are coming out wrong - I read online that it was because the loss of my 2 middle front teeth impact how words sound, particularly S's and Z's as the tongue moves up when saying them and no teeth there means they sound wrong.

I work in sales and my mouth is my money maker, I have 4 interviews lined up next week, and I need this fixed, it's really getting me down

I have zero confidence and am so embarrassed now speaking to people

So you already have lost some front teeth? Yes this could cause a lisp. A new denture can help this but beware that the bulk of the denture needs getting used to too...

Yes guys I suffer from dental Phobos since I’ve been a kid and never went to the dentist so it’s years and years of not looking after them

I’ve lost 2 on the bottom front and 4 on the top front causing poor speech and difficulty eating ( I’m sticking to soft scrambled eggs, soup, soft bread and chicken as I’m fearful at any moment more will fall out- I’m also brushing REALLY slow just in case)

I’m also holding myself up at home getting depressed as I’m too embarrassed to go out with friends or meet people

2 weeks til my dental consultation seems ages away

Like I said I’ve a number of interviews to attend
