    About 3 years ago, I wine to the dentist for the first time in a number of years and I ended up getting 4 fillings. My teeth from a cosmetic point of view are pretty good.

    Went back to dentist yesterday and was told I need 5 fillings...this was from a completely different dentist.

    I am kinda wondering if the dentist is more keen on generating revenue and giving me fillings for the sake of it. Either way, how bad is it to have 9 fillings? I am starting to worry that the state of my teeth is far worse than I was believing all along...

    Anyone in the dental know, please let me know your thoughts on this?

    In my experience, there's plenty of genuine work out there so there is no point in making things up and treating healthy teeth..... Maybe you need 5 fillings... Do you have a high decay rate due to frequent sugar intake... Don't shoot the messenger...

    Get a second opinion if you are concerned....

    Don't know about decay rate but yes unfortunately I have a high sugar intake....I suppose that is the main cause of the fillings.
