That was some goal from Gervinho. Brought back memories of George Weah.

Was watching highlights of today's games and Krzysztof Piatek looks a very talented striker. He's got 4 goals in 3 games now and is ranked fifth in Serie A for shots per game behind Ronaldo, Dzeko, Insigne and Perisic. Was reading up on him and he only cost Genoa €4m from Polish side Cracovia. Possible bargain of the season if he keeps the goals up. He's away to Lazio next so keen to see how he does there.

Piatek got another goal, taking him top of the scoring charts. Didn't help Genoa much though as they were thrashed 4-1.

Roma looked really poor in their loss to Bologna based on the highlights.

Pleased to see Ronaldo get another goal.

Also really nice long range goal from Udinese's Rodrigo de Paul against Chievo. He provided an assist later as well. He's having a good season.

Granata played like with a hangover yesterday. It was hard to watch us, like keystone kops of calcio

Looking forward to Inter v Fiorentina tonight.

Fio are great attacking fun, and it will interest to see what Inter will have to cry about this round :)

    Roma doing terrible.

Monchi buying way too many players at once a huge problem.

He also is replacing good players (who he didn't sign) with inferior players. He signed a keeper who rarely leaves the 6 yard box to replace Alisson, Pastore was awful business to replace Nainggolan & bought Schick when Salah left even though Dzeko has that role covered. Under and Kluivert who might end up good are about as good as it gets for him.

Inter strikes again against the play

Inter win another game playing terrible. I don't know how many times they played the ball behind perisic and politano and It went out of play.

Thought the penalty awarded was harsh on Fiorentina.

Only Pastore's second goal for Roma, and it's another great backheel

Piatek's got another goal. He can't stop scoring.

One win in five for Milan, that an injury time winner vs Roma by Cutrone. Not even October & I already feel like this season is another write-off.
2 big games Saturday with the Rome derby at 2pm and Juve host Napoli at 5 o'clock. The latter could put Juve 6 points clear which is a big lead this early on for teams chasing them.

    Poor defending from Romagnoli tonight.

De Zerbi's Sassuolo continue to impress. Up to third in the table now after winning 2-0 at SPAL. Milan visit Sassuolo for their next game so that should be one to keep an eye on.

Lovely little back heel finish from Pellegrini to put Roma ahead just before the break.

2-1 Roma, nice free kick from Kolarov after Fazio's howler

C'mon Napoli I want a title race that isn't half dead by October. 1-1 & Juve all over them since equalising

You'd have to say with the team Juve have, thats Serie A over for this year.

Yep, it's just the same as the Bundesliga now. One top team, another that will look like contenders but never actually are, and the rest fighting for the scraps

Perhaps the EPL and La Liga might be the interesting ones this season?

Was at the Olimpico this afternoon... What an event that was! Great atmosphere, fans and stadium. Very easy to get to, only hardship was a 25 minute walk from the metro station. Getting in was a breeze, but passport checked twice, and patted down twice. While I was in with the Roma fans, I wanted Lazio to win!

However, a decent game and it was a great occasion to finish my tour of Serie A!

Pleased to see Lautaro Martinez off the mark. Exciting prospect.

Ronaldo looked to have a great game for Juve. Involved in all of the goals and a constant threat.

Didn't realise Genoa were up against Frosinone on Sunday. Top scorer Piatek vs the worst defence in the league. Hope he can keep that scoring run going.

Whereabouts were you? I was in the distini sud est. Great view, and I wasn't in the sun! I was concerned about being too far away from the pitch, but it was fine.

I was in the curva right beside the ultras, was a brilliant experience. I was surprised how much seat swapping occurred

Another 2 for Piatek so far

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,643 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Was watching the highlights and Piatek's first goal was particularly impressive. He seems to have great instincts. I was also impressed with his strike partner Christian Kouame who assisted both of his goals. He put in a lot of work and should help provide Piatek with plenty of chances. I looked Kouame up and apparently they bought him this summer for €5m. That means they found this exciting young partnership for less than €10m. Some incredible scout work there.

Also a very impressive result for Milan as they brought Sassuolo crashing down to earth. I thought that fixture could have been a potential banana skin but Milan were very clinical. Suso's first was a beaut. Hope this setback doesn't affect Sassuolo too much. Doesn't get any easier for them as they next travel to Napoli. I wonder will De Zerbi tone down the attacking philosophy for that one following this Milan drubbing.
