    Weak sauce.

I'm a NRV; point out what I'm doing that would contradict that....?

So by all means keep the info that would help the village. you in one post have said the wolves are smart enough to game the system and then in another said a wolf isn't smart enough to game the system.

    I call thee silly desmondo.

I've changed my mind. I miss D0. Villager, wolf and SK all working together to solve those puzzles. Where did we go wrong guys? Where did it all fall apart?

How yiz. Just back from a parent teacher meeting. Did you know they're teaching kids mindfullness in school these days? Mad stuff.

    Onto this morning!

if one of Derry or Brendan die before tonight we'll know a bit more I guess. If we are to believe both of them, my assumption for now is that the SK brings two potential victims into his play ground and gets to decide which to kill.?

I'd be inclined to agree with this assessment. The SK gets to pick 4 to hospitalize and maybe only one to kill? For this reason I'd also be super super wary of putting anyone who was hospitalised as leaning good. I'd be keeping a close eye on anyone who was pushing "in hospital = good"
    Wendy WW wrote: »
I'd be slightly worried the the hospitalisation fills the Arsonist role as the SK is Hospital based. 3 (or is it 4) people when it's not even Lynch day 1 seems like an awful lot of people waiting to die though.

What's this about an arsonist role?

Is there anything to be said for a game of codenames.

    #Readslist1

How about I show you how it works and then judge the method then...:(

There's a lot of unknowns tbh, I'm concerned about it. More people need to post more.

    Town Lean

    Orla WW - Cos I'm town, that's why :P

Derry WW - solved two clues, seems to be hospitalised, is game solving - Top Town for now.
Conor WW - solved the last clue, again seems to be working in the village interests, happy to lean town for now.

Desmond WW - Hospitalised apparently, again doing some nice game solving (figured Redbeard around the same time as Derry I think) Town for now.

Abigail WW - generally helpful, happy enough to put here for now.

Gabriel WW - belligerent, believes in FFAs, that's fine. Quite aggressive in questioning which is also fine. Lean town for now.

    Null/Town Lean

Brendan WW - Hospitalised, asked to be healed. Second part drops him out of my town leans.

Clodagh WW - Again, seems to be game solving but not enough to let me town read her.

Riona WW - Again, closer to town than null but not enough for me to put her in the top list.

Tegan WW - Seems to be asking questions, but they aren't really following up imo. Light town/null.

Katie WW - I like their posts, but I'm not there with town reading them. Null.

Wendy WW - Posts are ok, not sure their pointing out Watson's other profession is that towny though. Null though.

Absolute Null Read (Not posting enough for me to get to grips with them):

    Isla WW
    Frank WW
    Liam WW
    Gertrude WW
    Barbara WW
    Holly WW

    Null/Wolf Lean:

Doris WW - Fluffy, like me, but no game solving alongside it. Null to wolf lean.

Winifred WW - Has a hard on for me, and Des presumably. OMGUS makes we want to wolf read her but I'm not there just yet. Lower end of the spectrum.

Nigel WW - Derry MIGHT have been onto something earlier, not sure tbh. Odds are there's a 'helpful' wolf. Bottom of my null list anyways.

    Wolf Lean

Steve WW - felt he was trying to pocket Derry earlier. Light wolf lean.

Eva WW - 1 post asking people not to compare her to last games Eva... uh, ok? Wolfy vibes.

Oisín WW - Has Oisin even posted yet?

That's it, that's what I've got for now.

You don't have to do a full reads list, just a sorted town list.
Most trusted up top, most distrusted down bottom.

Just so we can see exactly when you, or whomever does these list, changes gears.
Then we can say, but, Johhny WW was way up on your reads list, why do you think he is a wolf now.

Its another tool set, which really helps if most of the village participates. As NRV, help the village and do the lists.

  • Forum Games Player Posts: 4,132 ✭✭✭Gabriel WW

It's unrealistic to expect everyone to do an orla level of work and as has been pointed out, me being one of the outliers who does is likely to be used as a stick against me.

Do you not see that list is far easier to game than a shorter one? I'll provide an FFA just like everyone else should. Since you are so convinced FFAs are so easily corrupted, you should see that, right?

Yeah, I've probably gone into more detail than is necessary tbh, but I wanted to show how it works.

Probably will just be posting a town - wolf readslist in the future if I'm around to do so.

To be clear, I'm not asking you to do one, do what you wish - it's just something I saw on the other place and wanted to give a run.

And yeah it's probably a bit wishy-washy for now but as you rightly pointed out, it's day 1 so it's hard to read everyone.

I just took it from my notes tbh. Helps being off work for the week :D

My issue with this is that on day1 you're ranking people with not a lot of info to go on and you're giving wolves a lot of ammo to rattle cages and cast doubt with. Also over the course of the day I can see rankings changing dramatically. While I see the benefits in giving people more stuff to go on and question others with, it also works against the town because I think it could lead to everyone getting distracted.

Mind you, whether we do FFAs or rank the town, it's day 1, we're all probably going to end up lynching the lowest poster anyways?

Its not you that is pushing in fairness. It's dessie.

Don't be coy Orla this is just an extension or rebrand of a previous necro idea of posting your best 3 suspects and best 3 goodie reads.

Normally, I'd tend to agree - BUT - day 0 wasn't the normal day 0 most are used to as Derry has pointed out on a few occasions. So, imo, there is more information than usual to go on.

Hence me wanting to trial something different.

The NewFFA was trying to change things up a little bit, this is ALL MU-influenced.

I don't mind if people want to try it or not, but I said I'd give it a whirl and see how it went.

  • Forum Games Player Posts: 4,132 ✭✭✭Gabriel WW

I don't think we have more info than usual because I'm not convinced the wolves couldn't compete for the riddles and prizes and do so without compromising themselves.

  • Forum Games Player Posts: 4,132 ✭✭✭Gabriel WW

I'd also be happy to kill a low poster, but I'd still want people to submit FFA info.

There is more to go on in the sense that for once, we were all working on a common goal right off the bat BUT most players posted less than 30 (about half the gang have less than 20 posts) so that's still not a whole lot to analyse. Especially when most of those posts could be summarised as "Puzzles?! WTF!?"

Whether they did or didn't isn't really the point imo.

It's more that people were actively engaging the thread as opposed to taking the approach of constant GIF-spamming (although I did enough of that for everyone, I just can't help myself :pac:)

 Only about half actually. Anyways, I've said my piece and backed up my point so I'm not gonna keep harping on about it.

I think thats a lovely story but i dont think thats what actually happened. There were a load of people who didnt take part yesterday, myself included.

And the gif spamming still happened. There was spam ahoy yesterday in and around puzzle posts. In fact, it may have been easier to hide fluff posts because you, for example, can say ah but sure lots of that was for the puzzles.

If you actually read back though you'll find I hadn't a bloody clue about the... clues... :(

I wish I did but I didn't. I did post motivational songs though, and here's another:

I'm in favour of FFAs but don't mind if people want to do full on reads. I'd be a bit hesitant about everyone doing it as a) I think it's a lot of info to put out there and b) I'm lazy ;) Seriously though, FFAs may be gameable but having to do them means having to read the thread properly and I sometimes think people don't bother reading. I can't be the only one who has posted a *spectacular insight, only to feel like I shouted it into an empty room or to see someone else come along and post the exact same thing soon after.

*may or may not be a slight exaggeration
