Separation Agreement

Hi

Myself and wife have split up, we're moving on, I'm buying new property and bank want separation agreement.

We have agreed on everyting between us and written it up in a document. It sets out the parameters of our separate living arrangement, finances etc. My question, what do I know do with it? I don't want to be paying out unnessecary money for legal duties when we have agreed ourselves. What is my best way of making this document offical?

You'll have to go to court to get the terms of the separation legally binding.

An agreement between yourselves is all well and good but it's only any good as long as he both honour it. So it's basically not worth the layer is written on

Can it not be done by a solicitor? Need it fairly fast. My understanding is that a separation agreement didnt need to be done in court as solicitor can do it

Seems that you still have to go to court regardless of how it its drawn up?

I think the reason for taking it to court is to make it legally binding if there is a fear it could be broken by either party.

If its not submitted to court its more a promise rather than anything else to be honest.
