How do you find out if u can get planning for to build a granny flat?

    No, the granny flat (Ancillary Family Accommodation) must be for a family member. But, the person being cared for can go into the Granny Flat and the carer into the main dwelling.

    You are right, a Granny Flat must be connected and interlinked to the main dwelling.
