Do you need to have seen season 1 of Unforgotten to follow season 2, or can it be watched as a standalone series?

    Standalone

99.5% standalone. There is a tiny little thing with her dad that carries over from the first one but it's not hugely important and you'd probably figure out what's going on anyway.

Also, tried watching The Good Place but just can't stomach Kristen Bell. I find her incredibly annoying in it. My skin crawls any time she "curses" in it.

    Same
I know she was supposed to be annoying so she nailed it !
    Couldn't stick it

Watched Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. Thought it was pretty funny. Well worth a watch if you like The Lonely Island. A lot of cameos and familiar actors in it

^ Very underrated.. breezes by and is genuinely very funny!

    Plus the soundtrack is great!

It’s not got many laugh out loud moments but it is consistently amusing, very slickly produced, and actually quite sweet :D

Crazy amount of cameos. Seal wins :pac:

    Well worth a watch

It is a really underrated film I don't know how I didn't hear about it before. I like their first film Hotrod. I liked Finest Girl. It's not often you get to hear the lyrics
This girl requested intercourse to bring her to climax with the clinical efficiency of the assassination of Bin Laden
    in a song

Hot rod was terrible, not often i turn a movie off after starting it. I guess its just that type of "comedy" just isn't for me, Napoleon dynamite got the boot as well. I recall them having similar style comedy.. Shite :pac:

She’s fine. It’s an ensemble piece so you don’t have to see her as the major protagonist.

I enjoyed it, first episode or two weren't great but once it got going it wasn't bad. Nothing amazing or anything but good to kill a half an hour with here and there.

    Fixed that for you ;)

It's been years since I saw ND but I recall enjoying it as one of not many versions of "social awkwardness as comedy" that worked for me. A lot of comedy in this style e.g. The Office (particularly Ricky Gervais's material) doesn't land for me, but Napoleon Dynamite did, for whatever reason.

I heard there has been an animated series spinoff since, but haven't felt interested in checking it out so no idea what that's like. I wouldn't expect too much, tbh - the film felt like it adequately covered all the ideas the creators had.

Enjoyed this one. It ticked boxes nicely. Though I did end up playing Howth/Sutton location bingo after the 11th minute where the scene is outside my aunt's house (bus stop and sea wall scenes).

    Magic for Humans.

Great tricks and a nice diversion to the avalanche of dramas.
