Yeah, really enjoying Slow Burn. The first season was really well put together and season 2 is just as good.

The Stand from earlier this year with Ken Doherty, great story of his life. Id recommend it to any snooker fans.

Just finished Season 1 of Slow Burn. Very well done. Up & Vanished series 2 has just started - a very interesting tale of the disappearance of a young woman. She was a 'free spirit' and was hanging out with a commune type group but her family say there is no way she would have left her young daughter & family.

Just listened to the latest episode of Tabú- hosted by Kathi Burke and Terri McInerney. They take a different taboo topic every fortnight and discuss it. This one was about sex work and it was really thought provoking!

Working my way through A History of The Cold War. Really great podcast series, in-depth, well researchedand presented the way I like my history: straight up with no nonsense.

Listened to a podcast called Dirty John. Was going to give up on it after two episodes. battled through. Astonishing stupidity on display.

Short of it: Con man gets rich woman to fall in love with him and get married quickly, pushing her away from her children.

I listened to that too. It's such a trashy story but I did find it engaging.

Just gave up halfway through Teacher's Pet. Those unsolved murder mysteries are a dime a dozen. The guy who made it openly admits he thinks the guy is guilty at the start so how can I trust him to give me the complete picture unbiased. It really drags too. Some crazy moments like usual for those kind of stories.

Desperate for love at her age? She was loaded, how could she not find a decent man.

So many funny moments. John turning up to social events in scrubs. Describing how he would jump out of airplanes in 'iraq' shooting a gun himself.
Her mother was a bit loopy as well.

Been able to listen to loads of these over the weekend due to being stuck in bed sick as a dog! Really well produced and somehow not annoying to listen to as I find most American crime podcasts

I gave it a shot.... it kinda goes on and on and on... I wish he broke it up into smaller chunks. I found myself day dreaming instead of listening to it.

Sean Carroll's Mindscape Podcast is a new one I've been enjoying. https://www.preposterousuniverse.com/podcast/

He's a theoretical physicist at Caltech. Has a lovely presenting style, and a wide range of topics discussed. None of that phony banter and fake laughter that destroys so many other 'chat format' style podcasts.

That's a shame, but at least you tried it

Listened to the first episode of "A very fatal murder" - it's an Onion parody of the True crime podcasts. Very sharp

Been listening to Dr. Death and this came to mind.

The promo code they give in the ads - you literally have to type in "death" on the website to get a discount. Seriously poor taste.

Hi, sorry folks, but what is a good app for listening to podcasts?..one where you can follow certain ones and it well laid out etc..haven't really listened to many, because I thought castbox was awkward to use..

I assume you're using Android, I've found Pocketcasts to be great.

    For Apple or Android?

Apple seem to be on a mission to make their own podcast software worse with every release, so I'd recommend Overcast. It's lovely. Has some small ads in the free version, but you can remove them for about €5 per year. It's a passion project from a single developer, so well worth supporting.
