Hi all, just moved close to Marley Park and was actually surprised the park itself doesn't have any part of it where BBQ would be possible, so was wondering if there is any place in South Dublin (or close) where smaller group of friends, or a family could come and do their BBQ?

BBQs, bonfires and fireworks are all specifically prohibited by bye-law in all Parks and public open spaces in Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown, except for designated licenced events.

Fires are banned on beaches but BBQs are not referred to, so maybe a beach is the option.

Some moron must have put a disposable BBQ on a picnic table in cabinteely park, dirty bit rectangular burn mark on it.

I have seen people with them down on killiney beach.

There are wave barrier things, loads of rocks contained in a sort of cage. I have seen people set them up there since it is the right height and protected from wind a bit. You would want to put rocks under it so as not to damage the cage things.

There are also toilets and drinking water down there.
