Buying display model camera

camera was actually brand new in box when sales guy checked, so a bit of a moot point but if anyone has any thoughts on display models I'd still like to hear them....

Also, sale of goods act would also cover it, ‘display item’ or not. Better than any shop warranty. The shop warranty simply means they agree not to argue about the sales of goods act for a specified period.

not sure what you mean - I was originally told they only had a display model, hence the first post asking about display model.

When they checked, they found one in their store area that was brand new in box. This is the one I got. The display one is still there.

I'm still wondering if buying a display model at a significant reduction in price is worth it.

(I'm not convinced it is by the way - for example, the body only version was left open with no cover, so I wouldn't touch that. But the other display models had lens securely attached, so perhaps these would be a good bet. They could be on display for upto 12 months, but with no actual use beyond customers pawing them every day. The one I looked at didn't have a mark on the lens or body.)
