However we are not FROM Ireland and hence not Irish citizens, and none of us have the time to go back to our country to get married there. So how do we go about this?

    Take a look here: http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/birth_family_relationships/getting_married/

It will take at least 3 months (unless there are very exceptional circumstances), but not that an Irish divorce takes a minimum of 4 years.

We had the same situation here, given all the costs involved, the waiting time and getting apostile on some of the documents we decided to get married in vegas - worked out a tiny but more expensive with travel included, although we had holiday on the same go ;)

I'm not sure there would be any extra hassle involved? When we got married neither of us were Irish citizens and I don't think it caused any hassle?

(we were both EU citizens though, not if that makes a difference?)
