sashafierce - I am familiar with your other threads on this.

Legally I doubt very much there is anything you can do. Did he acknowledge the debt by text message? There is no harm in you asking a solicitor if you have a case but a letter from a solicitor holds no more water than a letter from yourself.

Have you told his family about this? It might be easier to shame him into paying you back than spending more money with solicitors trying to recoup.

By the time you pay a legal team to persue this through court it will have cost you more than €2000 and even if the judge finds in favour of you he may just decide not to pay and you'll be back where you started with a big legal bill.
Even getting revenge by telling everyone you know including his family may backfire on you as he can just say that you're a bitter liar.
It's very hard but you will just have to remind yourself that you were a better person than he and if this is what he's like you've had a lucky escape.

Small claims is not for person to person debt.

Its for people to go after businesses.
