    Gumtree.ie my good man :)
Gumtree is always cheaper, for everything, almost. Ever noticed? It's Buyandsell for the dear stuff, Donedeal for average, Gumtree for the bargains. Funny that.

Octavia 1.9 tdi economical reliable comfortable. We have a 2005 Octavia 1.9 tdi just to tell you serviced it yesterday cost 60 euro for parts oil air fuel filter and castrol oil all genuine parts. Went to service it and it was a joke how easy it is too service everything has easy access. Anyone could service them. They really are a great car.

I doubt it's the right oil for that engine if everything was <€60. Check the oil bottle to see what VW oil standard it meets. All of the certified oils that meet the VW PD oil standard that I've gone looking for have cost me €60 or more for 5 litres. If you've not got the right oil, you run the risk of camshaft lobe wear on the PD engine.

(Note - based on it being a PD engine. As far as I know all of the TDI engines of that age and newer are PD, but if it's the older VE pump with the diesel pump being driven off the timing belt, then I'm wrong and ignore this post ;) )

What about a Tesla model s. Its expensive at USD 49,000 (40,000 euros), but given it only takes about 2 euro of electricity to fully charge its battery (which has a range of 160 miles), this means you will save about 20 euro per day on diesel. So if you work 5 days a week that's a saving of 100 euro per week, which is a saving of 5,200 euro per year. And thats assuming that diesel doesn't rise in price from now on which isn't realistic so the saving is likely to be much more.

It will also have less maintenance charges than a diesel and will have lower motor tax.

Its got 7 seats and tons of storage space.

Do they even have them here? And if they did I wouldn't be buying one to taxi, I'd go for a Nissan Leaf or something..

Nah you'd have to ship one over. The leaf would be decent for a taxi also, though it might be a bit on the small side and its range of 80 miles mightn't cut it (although I don't know what sort of mileage taxis do so I could be wrong).

it has 5 seats and 2 (optional in the boot) jump seats for under 10s, hardly a 7 seater per se

Any time I see a car as online I google the phone number before calling it. Almost always its advertised elsewhere cheaper. Sometimes its advertised elsewhere with a longer list of faults!
