Car rentals. Is the Airport the best option?

Hi, waiting on a part for my own motor so will need to rent one for a couple of days next week. Am I best just heading straight to the airport and sorting it there? It looks like pick up for most of the on-line places is the airport so I'm wondering would I get a better deal if I just show up. Any experiences? Thanks.

Do not just show up.

I recently rented a car recently via these folks with pick up at Cork Airport for €18 per day.

Just get your own excess insurance.

They will pick you up and drop you home, within reason.
