Think Martial was deadline day in 2015

Liverpool were absolutely Marcellus Wallaced for VVD.

Anyone that says otherwise is a tit.

The acid test of your assertion is do you think Liverpool would sell VVD of someone offered them £76m for him? I don't think they would which would imply they believe he's worth the £75m they paid for him.

Price is what you pay, value is what you get.

Could or more importantly should Liverpool have been able to sign VVD for less? Yes, absolutely but Klopp wanted him and no one else so Southampton were able to extract a huge price for him but no more than Liverpool were prepared to pay and all three parties seem very happy with the deal.

How do clubs let that happen these days? I can’t get my head around it. They could of gotten 80mil+ for him last season and instead they allow his contract run down and end up having a net spend of circa 50mil to replace him!!!!
We're in danger of the exact same thing happening to Martial next year yet people are still talking about sending him out on loan for a year.

Manchester United representatives have been involved in a meeting for PSG left-back Layvin Kurzawa in recent hours, according to tomorrow's L'Équipe.

My only knowledge of him, is of him playing for a French under age team. He was mocking the opposition team Sweden. The Swedes ended up winning the game and he looked like an eejit. Could be wrong on the exact details.

Good going forward, gets himself into great positions but is an absolute horror show in defence, would be a better winger than LB in my humble opinion

For arguments sake if we went 352 with him lindy toby bailly and tony would he be a decent acquisition?

As a Wingback yeah possibly as he wouldn’t have as much defensive duties and would have a CB to cover some of the space, really don’t think he would suit a Jose team though as I don’t think he’s that tactically aware in defence, but like Evra in his last few years, always getting caught way up the pitch

Anyways it’s only a smokescreen for Mbappe :pac:

“At United we have to sign big players, with experience," Sanchez told Sky Sports. "Barcelona just signed Arturo Vidal, who is a great player and my team mate from Chile”

"He is an example of the type of players we need to sign in order to win trophies and compete at the highest level“

If you read between the lines what he is really saying is “Mourinho needs get more out of the players and make us do more attacking drills in training because that will solve our problems”

I wonder if Sanchez is sort of a Roy Keane type guy for Jose. You know the way Keane was used as a mouthpiece for Ferguson, taking swipes at players publically so the manager could get the message across without directly being involved.

I’m not aware of any special relationship Jose and Sanchez have but they appear to be both singing from the same hymn sheet in terms of transfers in.

I’m expecting no one to come in tomorrow. I know some think the shorter window is bad but I’m delighted we don’t have another 3 weeks of this cause lets be honest we wouldn’t of signed anyone anyway. And people thinking we’ll sell someone to a foreign team who we don’t want to move on anyway is crazy talk.
Darmian might go. But if Martial isn’t sold by tomorrow he’ll still be here come January.

In saying that, I’m going to predict a wild one here just for the fun.... Martial swap for Alderweireld and Rose.

Wait until tomorrow when we see United sign mBappe, Maguire, Alderweireld, Dembele,Mina and Savic.

Jones, Darmian, Martial and Pogba moving on as part of the above transfers.

In reality, it'll probably be Alderweireld in.

I got talking to an Arsenal fan today and he said he expects Jose to be gone soon and I agreed it’s possible, but then he asked “Who replaces him?” to which I answered “Well that’s the problem.”

He then said “Arsene Wenger is available and I bet you he’d take it.” I was a bit gob smacked because I’m not sure that he’s wrong.

Personally I think the team overachieved last season and with what we have we won’t do the same again. We played some amount of utter sh football last season, which couldn’t even be described as boring defensive masterclasses, it was just utterly directionless a lot of the time.

I think we underachieved adox, the squad is capable of much better than it showed and we dropped some god awful points to some ****e teams. Those 9 points dropped before Xmas and City at OT in particular stand out.
