In other news a shuttle bus carrying my friends to ATN got lost and they are stuck while he is on the phone to his mate trying to find the way

There's usually a leaked press release aswell. In recent years anyway I've seen the line-up before the official announcement. Although that was probably just the 1st main line-up announcement

that happened to me going to glastonbury , we went past stonehenge and everyone was loving it until someone shouted at the driver we shouldnt be anywhere near stonehenge .

Unless they have to wait till Indie or ATN officially open gates. If there are acts from both festivals to be announced on next lineup

they will announce the headliners but not announce most of the line up till a month or so before , that's happened on multiple occasions

They usually have the majority of the lineup out by April ish though.

Regularly happens there. In 2016 they announced Tame Impala, Damon Albarn, Christine & the Queens and many others three weeks before the fest.

Incorrect. 2005 the Guardian published the line up quite late, only year we’ve not had all key performers at this stage.

So it's either a marketing master class and they want people at ATN talking about the epic list of bands just announced for EP!

or...

They go with "spectacular home grown talent added to line up...Gavin James, Coronas, B*Witched, The Corrs, John Spillane."

If its 2 and the reports back from ATN are favourable then its probably time for a change!
