iPhone 8 Screen Lock

Recently got an iPhone 8 but it is randomly locking the screen even when i am using it. I read somewhere that a screen protector (which i have) can cause this issue. Anyone come across this?

In case anyone comes across this thread, my solution was to do a hard reset/full wipe of iPhone and setup as a new phone (instead of restoring backup from previous phone).
