So I received this letter from Mercedes about a Safety Recall campaign (see attached pic). My dealer don't have free appointment for next 3 weeks to look into this.
Is it safe to drive in the interim? And does anyone know if this issue will take long hours to rectify?

    Thanks

    No. Driving is not safe...

But I wouldn't change my patterns only because of this letter. Especially that it explains you'll get warning beforehand should anything happen.

Have you ever had an airbag warning before? No? Then it’s very unlikely you will have in the next 3 weeks. Statistically like.

I'd be on the same level as colm here to be honest.

    Drive on

I'm in the same boat with my Avensis, it's been recalled for a passenger bag fault. Very impressed to say the least!

I'll get to booking it in eventually when I get the time...

I'd go with the instructions from the dealer. If they say it's unsafe to drive, they should be providing you with a rental/loaner until they can return your car with the fault remedied. That was what happened with our zafira with the heater recall.
