Car door repair

    Hey lads,

    The door on my golf has been badly damaged with the paint chipping and a panel gap between the door and wing.

    I know nothing about bodywork and was wondering if this could be fixed to look presentable again..

    It could of course be fixed. No problem. But it will cost money. Probably a couple of hundred at the minimum to get it back to perfect because the panel edges are bent and they'd have to be repainted.

    On the other hand, you could touch it up with a DIY paint pen and improve the edges as best you can and it would take the worst look off it from a distance.

    Third option, if the car is that age, would you be even bothered trying to do these types of repairs?
    As long as the door opens and closes securely then it's a harmless cosmetic imperfection.
