Put an empty bucket out and see how high water is when it stops raining

Bog standard Weather station which records daily and monthly totals for rain fall etc

It'd want to be a straight sided bucket though and then need a good eye for mm's. ;)

Heavy showers falling around Ennis since about 2pm.

We've had very little in N Offaly last night and so far today. I've a barrell set up at the downpipe from the shed and there's only about a bucket of water in it.
On a slightly drought related subject....

It's an odd sensation lifting up the round feeder and feeling the heat of the steel. It's usually a cold winter job.

A few heavy showers in the last few hours. This for the weekend would get things back on track some bit here

Prolonged light showers here, ground damp but still unyielding.

It should get grass growing and relieve pressure for the next two weeks anyway. It wouldn't take much of a warm breeze to set it back again here.
