I liked aquamen in the batman movie ;)

But this looks like absolute muck - People riding sharks into battle!!!

    I'm actually annoyed over that!!!!

The CGI war bit looks retarded the more low key moments actually look decent

^^ Agreed. The "above water" bits look far better than the CGI-fest underwater.

There’s a thread in After Hours at the moment asking “when did you say you were too old for this Sh!t” Think I had my moment when I saw lads riding sharks and crocodiles into battle in that trailer.

I had low expectations, or interest, before watching this, and they remain low. Maybe even a little lower in fact. That looked like generic garbage tbh. A warmed-up mish mash of Thor & Game of Thrones, with the same sh*tty CGI the DC movies continue to demonstrate.

I like Mamoa but that looks awful.

It looks terrible - not that I had particularly high hopes prior to this. I hope I'm proved wrong and it gets a great response once it's released, but I won't be buying a ticket based on that trailer.

    Shazam! however looks fantastic.

What did you see that made you think it was a rip off of Thor and GoT? If it's the brothers at war /reluctant King story, that is straight from the comics. Overdone in general yes, but if something is being true to its source I do feel it's harsh to dismiss it in the way you are doing.

CGI looked fine to me. James Wan knows what he's doing in that regard.

This looks so ridiculous it might actually be fun - unlike um, nearly everything else the DCEU has produced to date.

Wish they'd lose the Snyder-inspired aesthetics though.

There's only one Aquaman movie. The 2006 James Cameron version starring Vincent Chase

All that trailer made me do was roll my eyes and think...

It's Aquaman ... it was always going to look ridiculous under water.
But ... it might be fun.

Ye I just can't see how in the hell they are ever going to pull Aquaman off,
Its just going to flop , Its one of those that is ok in comics but utterly stupid in the real life,
Any of the scenes under water look awful

I only meant it as a shorthand for how derivative the trailer made the film appear. I know it's all from the comics, but the problem is what I'd call "the John Carter effect", whereby an adapted property may predate, or be the progenitor of other IPs, but by coming out after the fact risks appearing derivative and unoriginal.

I don't think it's overly hash anyway: for all intents and purposes this is DC's first post-Justice League film, and a fair barometer of how smart their "team up first, separate films after" tactic really was. Without the crutch of Wonder Woman, Superman or Batman, it's going to be an interesting case to see if audiences take an interest in what amounts to the 2nd tier of heroes.

If you can't wait until December, there's an Aquaman film available to watch right now, with its official release on July 31st...

Seems to be a lot of elements from Johns' run, which is great.

This... this actually makes me feel hope, for the DCEU as a whole.

This looks appalling... and I mean it literally *looks* appalling, as if every single frame - even the simple dialogue ones - has been render farmed to death. I mean, sure, some CG comes with the territory... but this goes well beyond that to the point where it’s actively distractingly fake-looking.

Maybe it’d look a touch better on the big screen, but those trailers are ugly as all hell on a small one.

You're the expert Johnny but I feel farmed is an unfair word to use. Didn't get the distracting fake looking vibes myself anyway even if the visuals are a 180 from what we're used to in the DCEU. If any property should be full of colour it should be Aquaman to be fair.

I actually thought that rooftop scene in the trailer was bloody marvelous.

And also; someone said full colour.
