Jaysus, I thought The Chalet was brilliant. I should probably avoid The Forest so 😀

Each to their own I suppose.

I'd be interested to hear your opinion of how they compare if you do watch The Forest! :)

I do enjoy the show though, it's good fun. Haven't started the latest season.

Gas. I suppose when you have as much money as he does you can just executive produce, and star in, a show where you get to be that guy :-)*

I watched both, thought the Forest was far superior!

It's already had development trouble with the director Scott Derrickson quitting over creative differences with the new showrunner (yep, they're already on their second showrunner as well). I'm still interested though, I really enjoyed the film.

    The Hateful Eight

More like The Bloated Turd. About an hour and a half too long, it’s pretty terrible.

I agree it’s too long but I really enjoyed it. A warped sense of humour and great acting

Walton Goggins is in it, so it gets a thumbs up from me, it's one of my favourite QT films. (it is too long though)

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

I would recommend Father of the year, pretty funny and American Assassian.

I really enjoyed it but then again I like QT films although my favourite is still Jackie Brown.

As for American Assassin I watched it with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised by it.

I actually thought The Hateful Eight was a return to form for Tarintino. it's basically a Western remake of John Carpenter's The Thing it even borrows some of Ennio Morricone's un-used score from The Thing and of course has Kurt Russell in it :D
    I'd give it a 8/10

Just can't bring myself to watch any Tarantino these days. He really dissappaeared up his own backside after Jackie Brown.

I would agree with most of the above

Once upon a time in hollywood sounds promising (bar the fact the scheduled release date was the 50 year anniversary of the Manson murders...very bad taste IMO).

....but seriously Death proof...was absolutely bloody dreadful..

The hateful eight was boring really bad.

I haven't watched a full Tarantino movie since the Kill Bill films. I've sat down to watch all the rest of them, apart from Death Proof, but I always give up on them out of boredom or tiredness. The first three were fantastic and still hold up to this day. Kill Bill didn't an awful lot for me at all. Looked great but that was about it.

I've been a big Tarantino fan, but the Hateful 8 bored the hell out of me. I never fall asleep during movies, but it happened twice with that. The first time was jet lag related, the second time was not.

I do need to try it again.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,752 ✭✭✭johnpatrick81

I love most his movies, but Hateful was such a disappointment. Even if it was about half as long it would still only be a 5 or 6 out of 10 at best. So predictable, so cliched, so hammy at times.

The drawn out nature of it is beyond forgivable though.

It's a bit brash and unsubtle, but funny enough.

Really enjoying Dark Tourist. Yer man is basically a kiwi version of Louis Theroux.

i really hate netflix layout, it gives suggestions that are crap and then you go search for something and find some good gems, but a lot of stuff is outdated or cheap indy which depending on taste can suck a lot, did enjoy la casa de papel, currently on queen of south really good if you still need your narco fix.

I detest the auto play. It puts me off browsing all together. Very unpleasant user experience.
