VRT no shipping receipt, advice wanted

How are things, Bought a car up in Donegal cars on UK plates and the seller told me he had no shipping receipt and said to book a ferry ticket (Stenaline ETC) and cancel it so I get the refund but I’ll still have the ticket. Do you think this would work if not I might actually go on a holiday to England!!! Opinions please…

Did you buy it from a dealer? Members of the irish public are not allowed to sell un-vrt'd (UK reg) cars.

If not Call the dealer you bought from and insist.

If it's remotely dodgy they will see through it.
