ACCA Lecturer Review

Hi All,

I just completed by ACCA journey and wanted to give a quick synopsis of the lecturers I had over the past two years. I studied all through distance learning. Obviously the below is purely subjective.

F5 - Jim Daly, GCD, really excellent. Revision weekend was particularly good with heavy focus on completing past exam questions. Enthusiastic and energetic.

F6 - Mel Kilkenny, City, Really disappointing given the positive feedback from some on this forum. Found the notes error stricken and lectures scattered.

F7 - Garret Mulvin, First Intuition, Excellent. Very organised and accurate material. Very exam focused.

F8 - Umesh Rana, GCD, Decent quality. The material for F8 is boring enough (found P7 much more interesting from a material point of view) which probably impacted on my 'enjoyment' of the lectures. Lecturer was interesting though and gave some good real world examples to illustrate points.

F9 - Garret Mulvin, First Intuition, again as F7 above, excellent lecturer and well delivered course.

P1 - Self Study, would recommend self study for P1. Passed this paper after two days of study. Very much applied common sense.

P2 - Reg Callaghan, GCD, Huge syllabus and is up there with P6 and P7 in terms of the volume of material you have to get through. Found Reg good enough but I benefited hugely from the fact that the F7 material I had studied previously was relatively fresh in my head.

P3 - Owen O'Reilly, City, Really excellent and brought a lot of enthusiasm to the lectures. Probably one of the more interesting subjects.

P6 - Edel Walsh, GCD, poor enough to be honest. Often didn't reply to email queries. Ended up going to a separate tax grind instead of the actual GCD revision weekend.

P7 - Suzanne Burdis, GCD, couldn't say I enjoyed these lecturers although the material was actually interesting enough.

Anyways said I would post the above as I relied heavily on this forum for recommendations and someone may find the above beneficial at some point.
