Presumably my 5+ year old Samsung won't get the update; we've already been stuck on the older interface anyway (as in older than the very current one), and it really sucks.

Same thing happened on my parent's samsung, it's a nightmare to use.

Really enjoyed Narcos and drug Lords and I just wondered if there are anymore South American or Spanish documentaries /dramas that are worth watching on netflix. They don't necessarily have to be about drugs. Thanks in advance.

“The Day I Met El Chapo: The Kate del Castillo Story,”

    Was pretty decent as well.

I briefly searched to see if older TVs could be hacked or custom firmware installed to let newer versions of Apps like Netflix be installed but got nowhere. As you said it's a nightmare to use but don't seriously believe it's a compatibility issue either.

Some Samsungs did have a homebrew development community for a while in which you could sideload apps onto the TV via USB, but obviously people lose interest as they move on to new TVs themselves.

If you're a fan of Darren Arionofsky, Jackie is highly recommended (...he produced it, and his stamp is all over it).

The score is a massive part of it, so watch it on a good sound system if possible.

Just finished watching The Forest. I thought it was absolutely brilliant, would highly recommend.

As an aside, watched The Chalet, another french "mystery/drama" just before watching The Forest and would recommend avoiding at all costs. It was terrible.

The Reader with Kate Winslet and Ralph Fienns is very good.

I gave this a go based on your recommendation but couldn't stomach Natalie Portman any more after about 15 mins. That's the second thing I've seen her in recently where I thought her acting was brutal. The other was 'Annihilation'. It's a pity because I love all things Aranofsy and she was great in Black Swan.

I got half way through season 3 of power and gave up. I enjoyed the first couple of seasons but it got tedious in season 3. Anyone here watched all the way through?

Just binged The IT Crowd - can't believe I never watched it before now - was looking forward to Season 5 only to learn there is only 1 episode - Graham Linnehan's profile on IMDB says he's working on IT Crowd TV movie - is this with the original cast or a pilot for American TV as I learned on Google that they are putting together an American version of the IT Crowd and he's involved. I'd really appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this. Thanks

Jaysus, I thought The Chalet was brilliant. I should probably avoid The Forest so 😀

I would imagine that is the American version on his imdb, incidentally the second American take on the series as Joel McHale and Ayoade starred in a US pilot several years ago.

Is anyone else watching Dark Tourist? It's absolutely fantastic.

That Pablo Escobar series I mentioned - El Patron del Mal - has an incredible 74 episodes. Not sure if I'd feel good about telling people that I watched that many. I am on episode 14, looks my my tv for the year is sorted.

If we are talking about the same one... https://www.tvtime.com/en/show/259730 ... it has 113 episodes.

Watched the second episode last night. That woods in Japan was weird! The areas after the tsunami are depressing looking.

Jeffery Dahmer tours next .... should be good.

Yes, it's very interesting so far. He's likeable too - not overly into it all and going along with a hint of scepticism.

The Colombian version had 113 but each episode was just 30 mins. The ones on netflix are about 40 mins or so.

So is this a US remake or an edited Colombian version? Because option 1 usually results in rubbish

Edited Colombian version. It is in Spanish with English subtitles. I think the fact it is in Spanish adds to the series.

Indeed. Only thing worse than US remakes are sound dubbed originals

So...added to my "to watch list"
    Thanks

That doc sounds interesting - has anyone seen it? I think I remember it getting positive press about a year or two ago ...?

I haven't watched any of the new season yet, but I've watched everything else.
It's pretty bad but good in a weird way. I'd never thought I'd say it but there is way too much riding in it.

Haha I know what you mean. The tediousness for me was just that.. and that ghost and Tommy are just going to basically kill everyone. Every time 50 cent reappeared too my heart sank... he is brutal as an actor!
Maybe I'll stick with it a little longer though as I have burned through most of the other decent stuff

What's hilarious is that all the women throw themselves at him, even the lesbians!
I do enjoy the show though, it's good fun. Haven't started the latest season.
