My Landlord aged (70) called today to collect rent

We had a chat regarding the previous tenant who won a case against him for no notice to tenant

I was a good friend to the tenant during her stay here, However my Landlord is a proper gentleman and he has been conned here by the Tenant and PRTB!.

The former tenant broke pipes etc and blocked drains smashed walls when fighting with boyfriends who she hid in the flat etc

The landlord covered all this damage and bought new windows new heaters etc during her stay. The tenant then met a new guy and went missing for weeks and never paid rent etc. My landlord left a note on the door to call for collection of keys which went unanswered for weeks.

Finally he called the Rent allowance ( she was still getting rent allowance paid to her bank ) and he entered the premises and bagged all her property and paid for it to go into storage.

The rent allowance secrion contacted her and she then contacted the landlord. The tenant said she would be over to collect stuff etc. The day came and she met the landlord at the flat, He explained all her stuff was in storage and drove her to puck it up ( paid for the storage ) and drove her to new residence with property. She then handed him a sum of money that DSW rent section had paid into her bank ( not all of it ) 600 i believe 6/7 weeks payment. I had the displeasure of seeing the flat after she tool the last of her property and he had to hire in a cleaning company it was so bad.

So 2 months later she took him to a hearing in the PRTB, I have just heard that she won the case and has to pay a large sum to her ( he wont tell me the €€€) but he is not happy and the PRTB said he will now be marked as a very bad landlord to rent with

This is a travesty my Landlord is the nicest man ive ever met, He is always helpful and always drops in to all of us for a chat etc. The former tenant has ruined this man and now he is thinking of selling the house because his name has been tarnished from lies yet she was in the wrong!!!

Is their anything he can do? He is not an envious guy and would just pay the fines without prejudice but he is really really hurt by this false claim

Run his business in a professional and detached manner being cognisant of the myriad of legislation.

Landlord Tenant law in this country is particularly one sided at the best of times.
