Charge sheet / Caution

Hi
Can someone clarifty something for me?
2 years ago my son and another boy were involved in a fight, i wont go into details of it but the end result was both boys were arrested and at the end of it all they were both cautioned, they're both almost 18 now. It never went to court they were never convicted they both got a caution and told to behave themselves.
Would there have been a charge sheet if they were cautioned? I didn't go to the guarda station with them i was too upset over the whole thing to be honest i let his dad deal with it but now that he's almost 18 and eligalbe to get a job and wants to travel etc will this stop him?

If they were arrested there is almost certainly a record of that and the caution outcome

My guess is that they were not charged as they were under 18 but all arrests are recorded even if no prosecution ensues

To be honest it depends on the gardai who were on that day, as since it was minors fighting a good proportion will let it go with a verbal warning and no documentation about the matter. I had those same worries myself as I was "arrested and cautioned for fighting" on a few occasions between the ages of 12-16 and nothing was ever recorded of those incidents.
So your best bet is to just go in and ask them to check your sons pulse record.

Juvenile caution. That's all. Not on conviction record. Not a charge sheet.

I agree that the best approach is for OP to get the Gardai at her local station to confirm that there is no Pulse record

Sure but its the only way to get certainty about whether or not your son has a record

Did anyone get injured in the assault? If there is any possibility of a charge of assault causing harm (s.3 assault), I would have a word with a solicitor before making any direct enquiry.
