Hi Folks,

I was looking at building a PC as my laptop is not quite up to the job for my needs which are architecture/design/rendering programs.

Primarily the software I would use most are in no particular order, Sketchup,Lumion,Revit,Autocad,3d max,V-ray and Photoshop.Typically I produce a lot of 2d plans and also 3d renders to present to clients. I need everything for this build basically apart from a mouse,my logitech g700s still going strong after all these years

I would allocate a budget of eur2000 for this build so if anyone could recommend some specs for my it would be much appreciated!

Since it's for work, I wouldn't bother with a self-build.

Go to Dell / Lenovo & get a new workstation desktop/laptop.
If/when it ever goes down, you want business-class support to sort you out; downtime is money lost.

Anything with Intel i7 CPU, 32Gb RAM & fast SSD should be grand.
Not sure if you need to worry about the GPU.

Appreciate the advice...this is just gonna be my home machine though,not a machine in my place of work, for the likes of renders in there we just use render farms etc...:)

This looks like it could be just the job for my few bits at home,and saved a few quid too!

Acer XF0 XF240YUbmiidprzx would be a nice 144Hz/1440p option, but there's lots more in your price range if you don't need 1440p & high refresh rate for your downtime.

e.g. 4K monitors @ 60Hz
1440p monitors @75Hz

I work quite a bit at home, and find the 34" (3440 X 1440) ultrawide perfect for CAD and GIS without ****ing around with text scaling etc (which may be required for the smaller 4k monitors). Great big map / model space windows, toolbars at the side. An option to consider, particularly for design work.
