Italian press rumouring that we have bid €35m for Bonnuci.

He's the kind of defender we need to be looking at. Not the likes of Maguire, sorry.

The comment on whether you've watched united was tongue in cheek response to saying (not seriously) that I've mixed smalling up with someone else.

Fair enough, last thing on this but my thoughts on Smalling are not that controversial tbf

In general terms I dont believe we are in that desperate need for another CB as some others do.

More crucial areas into he squad that need addressing.

Bonucci took a step backwards last year. I think he'd really struggle in a back 2 in the EPL. I'd be happy to sign him if we were going 3-5-2 though.

I’d like to think that was a big f*ck you from Lukaku to Hazard rather than he didn’t see him :pac:

Hazard is obsessively selfish all tournament when it comes to Lukaku

I think Hazard is putting himself in the shop window as much as possible.

He’s had a very good tournament but has been incredibly selfish and seems to ignore Lukaku completely!

He played Lukaku in there and Lukaku had a touch like a baby elephant

I think that's overplayed rhetoric, like flat track Bully and such ****e that rivals spout
What's funny is that was De Bruyne

Kane really doing nothing. He's not even making runs, just hoping it comes to him. Hasn't looked like scoring in open play for a long time

doesn't look fit, but I also think the forward play of England is not suiting him - not enough support or creativity in midfield, relying way too much on the full backs crossing and set pieces to create chances.

Was an issue I thought they would have based on the formation and not having a ball playing tempo setting midfielder who could command that central area of the pitch. Its an underdog formation, imo, that is set up to frustrate the opposition rather than dominate.

three at the back has limited them in midfield, and ultimately ment a lack of support in attack.

Having Sterling set as your lead forward, basically indicating that the intention is to play direct and quick to use his pace, rather than looking to create for Kane as your lead forward, is just wrong.

I'd like to have seen Rashford or Sterling attacking the full backs, with Kane as a target central and Lingard and Ali as late arrivals into the box. Take one of the CBs out, play Ali further forward, where he plays for Spurs as almsot a second striker off Kane. He didn't work as a central midfielder in a more traditional two.

Woeful from Lukaku again. Clear to see why Hazard is reluctant to pass it to him.

That was a horrific attempt at a first touch. Would have more than likely scored had he took control of the ball.

Shame he has one or two of those in him each game.

Lukaku I feel is the opposite to a lot of top strikers in that because he has been coached from a very young age he's less instinctive and does better when he has time to think about what to do.

Thats levy adding another 5 Million to his value

    Re: Smalling

There's a difference between getting on the ball a lot and being good on the ball. As was said he's often left to get on the ball by opposition teams because they can mark tight on everyone else and know he's very unlikely to pick out a pass to open something up. It's fine against the lesser sides in the league but he'll always be a weak spot for the better teams to exploit. One of a number of players that needs an upgrade. Maguire isn't that upgrade though.

Jones was truly awful for that goal

Jones picking up from where he left off last season.

Fùcking hate that he's still at United.

Not making excuses for any flaws in his game, but surely the fact that Lukaku has been basically on the go non-stop since last August isn't a help.

He needs a rest, a few weeks minimum. However, we need our main striker preparing for the new season asap. Maybe rest is the best form of preparation for Lukaku at this stage though.

I agree Stu he has hardly missed a game in 12 months and scored nearly 40 goals for club and country. He has scored the most goals from open play at the world cup it's hard to criticize the man in my opinion.

I think Lukaku has had a good World Cup today aside. His first touch let’s him down sometimes but not as much as it used to.

He had a massive season in fairness. Reasonable criticism is one thing, but we have to realistic too. Some of these players we're judging under a magnifying glass at the WC, they are at the back end of a long season.

Lukaku def does need a rest. Doesnt take away from the fact though that his first touch isnt great
