Change of vehicle ownership

    Just a query about the online system where you can check the status of change of vehicle ownership..


    How accurate it this system ??


    There seems to be two fields, change of ownership notified and cert issued..
    Dealer said the change would be done online and take 5 working days, that was 4 working days past but the system shows no notification of change in the last 3 months..



    Is the system just slow to update or should I be thinking nothing has been done yet ??


    Usually wouldnt be a big deal but I'm travelling abroad with the car in two weeks and want the cert in my hand - and id like to tax it.

    I bought a car on the 1st (Saturday). Notified on the 4th, issued on the 6th and arrived on Monday 9th. This was all by post, I would have thought online would be quicker..

    They are probably just a bit slower this time of year processing them due to staff summer holiday rosters and the July change of registration plate demand.
